The Difference between Faith and Trust

The words faith and trust are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference.

Faith is something we HAVE, while trust is something we DO.

God gives us faith.

His Word says that every man is given a measure of faith (see Romans 12:3 below*), but it is up to the individual what they do with it.

TRUST is FAITH in ACTION.

It is faith that has been released. If you have not been doing so, make a decision to begin putting your trust in God in every situation in your life. In your time with God today, talk to Him about all the things you trust Him for. Trust God for your future, and trust Him for whatever challenging situation you are facing today. Trust Him to work in and through you to bring His will to pass.

PRAYER:

Father in Heaven, I want a heart that is right with You. There are times I seek after Your power and ability to resolve my problems but forget Your presence and love. When I slow down and quiet my heart before You, I can recognize that what my soul really desires is to walk with You, hear Your voice, allow You to correct and guide my steps. I want to turn my heart over to you to be transformed. Help me surrender my hands to You for Your purposes. Help me submit my mind and thoughts to You so You can align them with Your love and holiness. I pray Your Holy Spirit makes its will known and done, in and through me. Amen.

*For by the grace given me, I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.  (Romans 12:3)
