Toxins are so ubiquitous in our environment that they have become impossible to avoid. They are in our air, water, food, household, and personal products… we are literally born with them. The Environmental Working Group tested blood from umbilical cords and found an average of 287 contaminants. Toxic heavy metals like cadmium, lead, mercury, and arsenic have been found across the board in most brands of baby food but seem to be highest in those containing sweet potato, rice, and juice. The Clean Label Project performed a study in 2017 that showed that in 60 different brands of baby food, over 130 different contaminants were found.  Not only did this include heavy metals, but the study also uncovered pesticides and antibiotics as well.

There’s no doubt the amount of toxins our kids are exposed to are contributing to these statistics:

  • 1 in 5 children are obese.
  • 1 in 6 children have a mental health disorder.
  • 1 in 8 children have asthma.
  • 1 in 13 children have a food allergy.
  • 1 in 44 children have autism.

And these numbers were before the pandemic. Our children are suffering even more now. We have to do better for our children. We have to do better for ourselves. The foods we choose is just one example of how convenience is killing us. The healthiest option is almost always more expensive and more time-consuming. And in a world where we want everything five minutes ago and would rather pay for the less expensive option, we’re turning a blind eye to — or just flat out don’t realize — the health ramifications this is causing us. I mean, who doesn’t want their food faster, easier, and tastier?? And who doesn’t want products that are more convenient, disposable, with less hassle and less work? Well guess what? It’s time to wake up… and step up.

The harsh reality… switching to a healthy lifestyle is massively inconvenient, especially for those who grew up in the “I want it now” generation. There is no quick fix or easy solution with this. But don’t’ let that stop you! It is SO possible. Successfully adopting a healthy lifestyle starts one change at a time. And I promise you, your body will thank you in amazing ways!

Putting the effort into being healthy is putting an effort into our health… our LIFE!

Yes, it’s impossible to avoid all toxins. But the more toxins you remove from your life, the less you have to remove from your body. See other posts for various ways to detox.

It’s important to note that you first must make sure your detox pathways are open… pooping 2-3x a day, peeing every 4 hours, good breathing, sweating, and moving your body. If you start detox protocols and do not have proper drainage, you will reabsorb the toxins.

Also, be sure to consult with your practitioner before beginning any detox protocol.
